Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Stainless Steel Fabricator/Welder to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating and welding metal components.

Ensuring high-quality standards are maintained, This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical aptitude and experience in various welding and fabrication techniques to contribute to diverse projects within our organisation.

Duties

  • Perform TIG/MAG welding on various materials, primarily sheet metal, adhering to technical specifications and safety standards.
  • Utilise hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to cut, shape, and assemble metal components.
  • Fabricate parts according to detailed drawings and technical specifications, ensuring accurate measurements using basic maths skills.
  • Work with sheet metal and other materials to produce components for assembly or further processing.
  • Assist in the assembly of fabricated parts into finished products or sub-assemblies.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly stored after use.
  • Conduct quality checks on completed work to verify conformity with specifications and standards.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines while maintaining safety protocols.
  • Must be able to work on own initiative or as part of a larger team on complex fabrications.

Qualifications

  • Previous codes/qualifications in TIG and MAG welding and experienced in general fabrication work, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of welding techniques specific to BS EN 1090 EXC 2 welding standards.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment such as shears, brake press, punches, grinders and drills.
  • Mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret fabrication and assembly drawings.
  • Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and adjustments during fabrication processes.
  • Experience working with sheet metal and rolled sections and performing assembly tasks is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment while adhering to health & safety regulations.
  • Good organisational skills with an eye for detail and quality assurance. This role is ideal for motivated individuals eager to develop their skills further within a professional manufacturing setting while contributing to high-quality production standards.

Job Type: Permanent

Pay: From £15.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
